When my husband handed his gift to me on Christmas, I was immediately puzzled. It was an oversized rectangular shape and hard, like a piece of wood. I didn’t have the slightest idea what it could be. As I unwrapped a white piece of cabinetry I still didn’t get it. In fact he had to put it into words for me: a new kitchen! This instigated a happy dance followed by some smooches and a furry of pinning kitchen inspiration later that night. For months we’ve been dreaming, saving and talking about it that I’m still surprised that we’re actually making it happen.

With plans to officially start the process in mid February, I’ve been having fun gathering ideas and inspiration for different design approaches. Since our house is fairly small, getting creative with the space will be a challenge but one that we’re giddy to take on. I’ll be sharing the process with everyone along the way but until then, here are some fun things I’ve been leaning towards.
