We’ve been married for nearly 6 months now and I still get teary eyed when I look at our pictures and video. It was the perfect day and celebration in so many ways but the best part was after years of dating and knowing each other I felt a deeper sense of love and strength that took me by surprise. I’ve been so flattered by all of your sweet comments and inquiries about our wedding so I’m beyond excited to finally share it with you. Over the next couple of days I’ll be spilling everything from our design and location to the ceremony and reception. Here’s a little about the style and look we chose for our big day.

From the moment we got engaged I knew exactly where we were meant to say our “I dos”. Todd’s parents have a home in Santa Barbara where we (and especially Todd) have countless memories. It’s one of those places that feels like home the second you arrive and there’s always something crazy delicious cooking in the kitchen. But my favorite spot at their house is a very special one – the surrounding lemon orchard, a place that I fall in love with a little more every time I visit it. It was a no brainer that we would have the ceremony there. From that point on I knew I wanted everything to compliment the romance and rustic vibe of the orchard – with a dose of glamour. The second decision made was my dress. My mom and I decided to check out Monique Lhuillier in LA on a whim one Saturday. The second we walked in, it just felt right. I slipped this dress on and was immediately reminded of the leaves on the lemon trees. It felt dramatic and was the perfect juxtaposition to the natural surroundings. I swapped out the top for a slightly edgier bustier style and topped it with a vintage brooch on grosgrain ribbon I found at the Santa Monica Vintage Expo. Our flowers were kept simple, organic using white roses, cafe au lait dahlias, rosemary, olive leaves, moss and pods complimented with vintage lace.
