Best of the WestI’m what the cowboys would call a city slicker. I can count on my hand how many times I’ve ridden a horse. But as little as I know about being a true cowgirl I can’t help but gravitate a little towards western style. There’s something undeniably cool about a salty cowboy with a tipped hat, beat up boots and a worn pair of jeans that will forever be classic in my eyes. This cowboy-esque top from Equipment has been resurrecting my love for the style and instigated a trip to Jedlicka’s, one of the oldest saddlery shops around. Aside from a giant life sized wood horse that stands outside, I loved getting to browse the endless supply of riding boots, cowboy hats, leather reins and western-style clothing. A city slicker like me can’t help but leave a little inspired to jump on a horse soon.

What a great selection of cowboys boots…it must be hard to choose which pair to buy.
You’re right, there’s something undeniably cool about cow boy/girl style!

As a born Calgarian, I like to think I have a bit of cowgirl in my blood. I don’t have a pair of cowboy boots, but those booties you’re wearing are really cute!
You should visit the Calgary Stampede in the summer – I’m sure you’ll love it! 🙂

I LOVE the lipstick color on you! As a fellow fair person, I don’t think a lot of people understand the challenge of finding a good color that doesn’t make your lips scream LOOK AT ME! This looks gogeous on you and I’ll be hunting it down myself. As a busy Mama of two, I’d like to say thank you for putting together such a chic and approachable blog. I’m constantly inspired by your style – it’s made me get out of the yoga pants and into the skinny jeans for my park visits. Yay!
