Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

February 5, 2014

Valentine's Day Gift IdeasI’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I’m a hopeless romantic. So naturally I’m a sucker for Valentine’s Day. When I thought about some different gift ideas to share with you I came to the conclusion that the best ones involve a little more than just a box with a bow on it. It’s the gestures that involve a little planning, an element of surprise and a moment of feeling completely loved. Here are five ways to spoil someone this Valentine’s Day.

1. Lingerie, the most obvious but undoubtedly the most fun time to receive something feminine to slip into. Plus the dead of winter is the best time to hole up and lounge around in some pretty threads with someone special. Bisou Bisou playsuit, $169.

2. Flowers are always a good idea. But a creative spin-off to giving a sweet blooming gift is a flowery perfume. I love Le Labo scents because you can customize the label to say your loved one’s name, making it extra special and memorable. Byredo Le Tulipe, HYLNDS Bitter Rose, Le Labo Rose 31.

3. I love gifts that come with a bigger surprise. A bikini wrapped up as a clue for a tropical vacation sounds all too dreamy. Dream big right? Marysia swimsuit. Some other favorites from Mikoh swimwear here and here.

4. Breakfast in bed, need I say more? Some goodies to make the occasion all the more special. Fragile Hearts mug, Marchesa gold flatware, West Elm lacquer tray.

5. A candle lit surprise is a sure way to take someone’s breath away. And the more, the better. Stock up on simple votives and basic candles while choosing just a few scented ones to set the mood. My personal favorites are Diptyque Figuier or Tubereuse.
