Basic Construction

Basic Construction Every time I see my mom she sends me home with some of my old “things” that she’s found in storage. Old pictures, trinkets I valued as a 5-year-old, stuffed animals, random newspaper clippings and the list goes on. She can never bring herself to toss memories so she unloads them on me to make the call on what can go. This past visit my take-home box included some hilarious photos of me wearing some questionable get-ups. As my mom (and grandmother) tell me, once I was old enough to dress myself, I never let anyone do it for me. And per my mom’s blessing, she let me have at it. And so my adventures in dressing began with tutus paired with t-shirts, attention calling headbands, tie dyes mixed with OP gear (now there’s a blast from the past) and pattern mixing like you wouldn’t believe.

Nowadays I still find myself experimenting with new styles, however it’s safe to say I’ve come a long way since my tulle and tie dye days. Recently I can’t seem to get enough of basic structured pieces worn in a casual way. The juxtaposition of a modern, clean top with denim is too good if you ask me. I’ve been devouring a new line called Cameo The Label which is filled with pieces like this. Hence my new wardrobe craze.

Cameo the Label top, Current/Elliott jeans, Super sunglasses, Ash booties, Lauren Olivia clutch.
