There are two things I look forward to wearing every spring/summer season. The first is an obvious one: denim, hence the title of this post. It’s something I wear every season, but when the sunny days roll around denim always seems to be the thing I reach for. Maybe it’s all the adventures a little blue sky brings (beach days, picnics, bike rides…) or maybe it’s just the carefree and cool spirit that comes engrained in jeans. Either way, I crave it like lemonade on a hot day. The second thing I look forward to wearing is also basic but oh so important: crisp whites. I found both over on Piperlime and styled two looks combining the two.
AG denim jacket, Equipment blouse, Joie shorts, Superga sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff bag.
I dismissed some of my denim jackets for a while because they reminded me too much of my teen days. However, I’ve learned that there are ways of making them feel sophisticated and cool. Layering one with a blousy button-down always does the trick for me. For lunch at the beach I slipped on shorts and sneakers for a sporty and relaxed look.
Every once in a while our friends will invite us out on their boat for a sunny sunday cruise. Getting the invite feels like Christmas morning. I (literally) scream and can be ready in less than 5 minutes. It’s the best way to soak up the sun in Santa Barbara. Wearing head-to-toe white with a breezy top always seems like an idyllic choice, and of course, getting ice cream afterwards. J Brand jeans, D.ra top, Mar Y Sol tote, Genie by Eugenia Kim hat, Joie sandals.
