Denim Three Ways (Part I)

April 24, 2014

Denim Three WaysThe other day I slept in well past my usual rising hour and was late to meeting a friend for coffee. I literally had to get ready in 10 minutes. I was like a tasmanian devil swirling around my house rushing from room to room frantically making myself presentable. Not my finest moment, however I arrived to coffee and the first thing my friend says is, “you look amazing”. I practically burst into an embarrassed laugh and explained the irony of her statement. Looking back, I did a pretty stellar job pulling myself together. My recipe in the moment of urgency consisted of my most reliable jeans, a basic tee, boots, a leather jacket, cold water to wake myself up and a little bronzer and mascara. My tardy episode proved one major point, denim is my best friend. Especially when Spring rolls around. I practically live in the classic essential in all ways, shapes and forms. When Piperlime asked me to style three looks incorporating denim, I jumped at the chance. Mostly because it’s already one of my favorite sources for finding the perfect denim pieces but they also happen to house some of my favorite brands.

Rag & Bone jeans, Current/Elliott shirt, Vince heels, Ray Ban sunglasses, Loeffler Randall tote.
Denim Three WaysDenim Three WaysFor a day of meetings and a trip to the Santa Barbara Public Market I wore a denim on denim look, one of my basic daytime go-to’s. My trick for pulling off the trend is to always go with a lighter shade on top and a fun accessory—mirrored aviators give that masculine yet playful touch.

Be sure to check back tomorrow to see two more looks incorporating denim and crisp whites.
