Nothing invites a reason to entertain quite like a little sunshine. The other day I decided our bar cart was in need of some spring cleaning and organizing. I’ve had the itch to plan some dinner parties and nothing plays a bigger role than a good selection of booze. So I got to work, made a list and stored some of the cold weather favorites. I like to set up our bar with all the fixings for our guests to pour their poison of choice. Plus, there’s an unspoken open door policy at our house so friends know they can drop by anytime, which means a stocked bar is a must.

Aside from the obvious essentials I always like to add fresh cut flowers to the scene. Our Jasmin is in full bloom at the moment and smells like a dream so I picked a few sprigs and added them to a mini vase filled with white garden roses.

My spring drinks of choice:

Limoncello + Prosecco (see champagne three ways), perfect for brunch or with a summer salad.
Aperol + Prosecco, a favorite in Italy, so play some bocce ball while sipping.
Lemon Rum Drop, when something sweet is in need.
The Perfect Margarita, even better with chips and guacamole.
Watermelon + Blackberry Margaritas, one of my favorites with grilled chicken burgers.
Fresh Lemonade + Vodka, best when sipped in a hammock with a good book.

Tip: Pick up drink dispensers for water or pre mixed concoctions. I love this clear one because it adds a little height while not taking up too much real estate on the cart.

After a long day in the sun beer and chips always seem to hit the spot. I make sure to have a good amount on hand for any post beach hang outs.
