Afternoon Tea Time

May 7, 2014

Tea Time at The BiltmoreYears ago my mom would take me to tea at the Four Seasons every other week on Wednesdays. It was one of my favorite childhood memories and to this day the site of one of those sugar-filled towers and a table full of china brings out my inner girly girl. I can still remember my go-to selections which usually involved far too much chocolate and scones loaded with jam and whipped cream. Side note: my palette hasn’t changed.

Lately I’ve had the itch to go back and relive my tea time memories. so I invited my pal Arna along for an afternoon of lounging, sipping and soaking in one of the hottest days of spring. Our table sat right against the doors which were swung wide open to let the ocean breeze in. I couldn’t imagine a better place or way to spend a 80 degree weather. For a moment we were ladies of leisure. My next tea date (can you tell I’m on a kick now?) will be with the lady of the weekend, my mama.
