Black Diamond

September 2, 2014

Black DiamondDiamonds are a girls best friend, there’s on doubt about it. Naturally I’ve come to love just about any form they come in, but lately it’s been all about mixing black diamonds with gold and rose gold. When doing a little research I came to love the stone even more when I discovered it’s the rarest type of diamond in its pure state and the origin is slightly mysterious. Explanations have included asteroids, exploding stars and volcanoes—a hot geological topic. My craze for the rock all started with a trip to see Zoe Chicco in LA (seen here) when I got to view her latest collections which included a hefty selection of black diamond studded pieces. She showed me that mixing and matching is a more current and relaxed way of accessorizing, something I would shy away from ordinarily. I ended up leaving with a delicate rose gold bangle detailed with a row of black diamonds and the itch to wear and mix more. Then there’s the amazing Jennifer Fisher who seems to have mastered this art as well. Just one look at her instagram is a testament to the dark rock—take notes friends. Here are three ways I’ve been accessorizing my darker side.

Black DiamondA dainty touch of darkness: True fact, mostly men wore black diamonds since Medieval times. But nowadays they have taken on a feminine look when worn in a delicate way. Subtle hits of black diamonds makes as strong of a statement as lots of layered jewelry. People tend to notice the pieces that much more when they stand alone. Zoe Chicco cuff, Carrie Hoffman ring and Jennifer Fisher stacked rings.
