Evening Stars

November 6, 2014

Evening StarsI’ve always joked that during the winter months I go into hibernation. At night I’d much rather be cozy at home then venture into the cold in a cocktail dress—as much as I love dressing up. It takes a little nudging to get me out the door. The start of November means holiday parties, celebrations and reasons to clink glasses are on the horizon, which all require a little primping and motivating if you’re a homebody like me. I was reminded of this the other day while at Nordstrom browsing the beauty counters and noticed the holiday decor surrounding me. I knew it was time to pick up a little armor for my beauty bag. Two things that always pull me together at the end of the day for an evening party: a dose of perfume and something to brighten my overall look. I came home with Kiehl’s Original Musk and YSL Touche Éclat, a miracle highlighter I’ve heard makeup artist rave about before. Both I’ve been obsessed with since.

Vince heels, L’Agence sweater (similar), Saint Laurent Betty bag, Jennifer Fisher cuffs.

I’ve been putting it on my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, the inner corners of my eyes and just above my eyebrows in the middle of my forehead—all the places to catch some light. It’s my best friend at the end of the day when I feel tired and need that extra pick-me-up.
Evening Stars Evening StarsI’m a sucker for pretty perfume bottles, it’s always what draws me in first. I love the ombré amber shade of this one.

Other beauty favorites I’ve tried, loved and still rely on for that Holiday glow…

Thank you to Nordstrom for supporting this post.
