Springtime Breeze

March 25, 2015

Spring Vest  I went to a Springtime wedding once and wore this blush dress that I absolutely loved. It was simple in all the right ways, fit me like a glove and moved with just a hint of a breeze. I was beyond excited to wear it and even more giddy to attend the outdoor affair. However shortly after the ceremony ended and cocktails began pouring that gentle breeze turned into more of a disastrous wind storm. Conversations were interrupted with hair whips, umbrellas tipped over, dust flying, glasses knocking over and my perfect pink dress became an indecent exposure—I had to tie a scarf around my hips to keep it from flying up around my ears. For a moment it seemed chaotic but I remember looking over at the bride and groom who were unfazed by the unruly weather and suddenly it all seemed so helplessly romantic. Now every year when that Spring breeze comes to town I can’t help but love it a little and wear something that dances around with it, just not too much.

This skirt-turned-dress I found (also seen here) does just that. It also made me crave a neutral toned vest for the season. I found the one at Nordstrom and can’t wait to style it in a million different ways. It’s hard to tell but it’s half leather half linen, I’m completely obsessed.

Lafayette vestJoie Jamilla skirt (worn as a dress, I’m wearing a size small), Manolo Blahnik BB pumps, Celine sunglasses (similar), Vrai & Oro diamond bracelet, Prismera necklaces (similar here and here).
