The Slip Dress Layered

October 18, 2016

ciht_100816_075I’ve always been one to favor sophisticated pieces shown in a relaxed way and fall is hands-down the best season to play around with this concept. Blazers and tees, distressed jeans and heels, leather jackets and feminine dresses are just a few ways I usually pull off the vibe. But lately, I’ve been hooked on a new way of looking casually dressed-up. Enter the slip dress—loungewear, pajamas, whatever you want to call it.

I picked up this silky midi dress from Vince recently and its quickly become a reliable favorite for some fall layering. Just about any knit or outwear piece will look offbeat and cool next to an über feminine silk. This find also unleashed a newfound need for more midnight blues, and by “need” I mean full monochrome looks in the dark shade. Here’s the thing about navy that I love, it’s a softer version of black which feels right for this time of year. Not to mention black and navy together are utterly chic if you ask me.

Vince Drop Shoulder sweater and Spaghetti Strap Midi dress (styled another way here), Acne sunglasses, Gucci mule loafers, Celine bag (similar options by Chloe and Saint Laurent), Jennifer Fisher cuff and charm necklace.
