Bits and Tips

October 30, 2017

There’s really nothing cuter than Halloween when you’re under five. It’s like the puppy bowl but better. Elin will take any excuse to step out of the house as orphan Annie—real tap shoes and all—so we’ve been hitting just about every party, pumpkin carving nights and parades we can get to. It’s safe to say we’ve been riding the halloween train hard this year. But I have to say the costume has held up. And when I tell you it was the easiest thing to put together, it really was (thank youuu Amazon Prime). Next year I’ll be one of those mom’s who slaves over a costume for hours, or maybe not.

Annie dress, tap shoes, locket and wig.
There’s a slight possibility I’ll be dressing up as Miss Hannigan tomorrow night and if we can convince Todd to be Daddy Warbucks it will be a Halloween miracle. But for all our other functions I kept it low key with this black knit dress.

Aside from Halloween shenanigans a trip to Venice last week filled me up with inspiration. I stopped by Platform in Culver City—definitely worth stopping to check out—and finally got a firsthand look at The Edit by Freda Salvador and Janessa Leone. I ordered the Mattie hat and had my eye on these gold loafers.

Finally some gloomy weather over the weekend. I actually needed a sweater and it felt so, so good.

Caught up with one of my favorite fellow bloggers Kim of Eat Sleep Wear. She popped into town and we jumped at the chance to catch up with her and her husband Blake over some lunch and wine adventures in Santa Ynez.

Lastly, my Sunday people are pretty darn cute. Elin’s wearing the sweetest dress from Mabo kids, one of our favorite lines. It’s full of organic cotton basics, simple pajamas and designs that are beyond adorable.

Hope you had a good weekend too! xx
