A Lesson I Learned From A Podcast

February 20, 2018

I’ve become a podcast junkie lately—sharing my favorites list below—and while listening to one the other day I picked up an important lesson. I promise this might help you out in so many ways, so here it goes. When we’re met with challenges, from the miniscule ones to life altering ones, instead of fighting it as a bad thing, think of it as an opportunity to learn something about yourself. There is no good or bad, just experiences to learn and grow from.

I couldn’t stop thinking about it after I heard it. Kind of amazing right? I know I’m not alone when I recognize how much energy I waste being hung up on certain struggles or situations and worse, placing blame or judgement on where its coming from. So instead of asking yourself “why is this happening to me” or “why is this person acting this way” try asking yourself “why is this bothering me so much and how does it make me feel.” Writing it all down can be the best practice for working through something but when you take the weight off of it being a “bad thing” sometimes that’s all you need to approach a challenge in a positive way.

In other news, I can’t stop wearing this amazing top (Harper Top) from the latest Döen collection. I have it in the dress version that I also picked up for Elin (Yearling Cider Dress) in the mini size. It’s literally all I want to wear lately.
