Riviera Club Fall/Winter 2011

February 14, 2011
Last week the beau and I took a quick whirlwind trip to New York to see our friends from Riviera Club present their Fall/Winter 2011 collection at the Bowery Hotel. The trio—Derek Buse, Joe Sadler and Greg Ullery—were one of six designers recently nominated for GQ’s Best New Menswear Designer of the year and for good reason. I was beyond excited to see them recognized in such a huge way and to see their new collection, a nod to vintage wine country, an idea that came about during a wine tasting trip to Napa. Wool pants, tweed suits, button downs, cords and blazers made up a refined yet rugged aesthetic for their fourth season. Models casually hung around two long, rustic tables filled with wine, bread, cheese, sausage and grapes that I so badly wanted to steal a bite of, while Frontier Ruckus played on the side. The vibe was a relaxed, playful sophistication that perfectly reflected the clothes and the guys behind it.
