I’ll admit, when I heard the color for 2013 was emerald green I wasn’t sure if I’d ever touch it. Despite the concept that any green shade is a redhead’s best friend, I’ve always felt the contrary. I have never been a fan of the harsh contrast between my auburn locks and the bright color—I know, ginger problems. For a while I gave up trying the shade completely, turning it down without hesitation. It wasn’t until recently when I spied this top from the new 3.1 Phillip Lim x Target collection that I decided to give the vibrant hue another whirl. Turns out, I kinda love emerald green especially when paired with black. There’s something about a basic combination that balances my fear of green. I’ll be testing the waters with the color wheel more now thanks to Mr. Lim.
