The Dress Trifecta

The Dress TrifectaTurning the calendar to March means a handful of good things. For starters, Winter is nearly behind us and I know some of you on the East Coast are ready for this one to come to an end. And as the weather progressively gets warmer, lighter and happier I know I’m not alone when I say I can’t wait to wear a dress.

The other day I glanced down at my calendar and felt a wave of excitement for the months ahead which are speckled with parties, trips and weddings. Immediately I realized that hunting for the perfect dress/outfit for these occasions had to be added to the to-do list. When Piperlime asked me to style three different looks for the three different occasions, I knew exactly what I wanted to share. Here are three get-togethers I’m looking forward to and the looks I plan on wearing to them.

#1 Poolside BBQ: Easy slip dresses always get a lot of play in my wardrobe during the Spring and Summer months. I chose this one for a friend’s birthday party because it had enough coverage in case the day cooled off and it can easily translate to being more than just a bikini cover-up. The Dress TrifectaThe Dress Trifecta#2 Baby Shower: One of the biggest events on the horizon is the arrival of a close friend’s baby. She’s waiting to find out of it’s a boy or girl so in honor of the suspense, I picked two neutral colors. This simple gray dress might be my favorite find for the season because it has a loose, swingy fit and is so basic you could pair it with so many different things.

I can’t think of a better excuse for a vacation. But wherever the bells my ring one thing is for sure, maxi dresses will take you far during wedding season. I’ve found that the longer the dress is, the better so you can switch out shoes if need be – or even wear flats if it’s recommended. I fell completely in love with this dress because of its luxurious, slinky fabric and the print which reminded me of a painting.
