Hit The Road Jack

June 26, 2014

Living in California for most of my life has turned me into somewhat of a road warrior. With so many great nearby destinations (wine tasting, coastal gems, mountain hideaways and city lights) it’s hard not to get a wild hair and hit the road. Plus having family at both ends of the state makes for a perfect excuse. With so many miles under my belt I’ve managed to nail down the essentials for making a road trip as fun and spontaneous as possible. And since summertime calls for carefree adventures, I thought I’d share some of my favorite road trip destinations and a few things to never leave home without. And of course stylish yet comfortable options for being in and out out of the car. I found my simple, soft and basic finds at Old Navy for this look.

pictured in the video: Old Navy twill shorts, loose knit sweater, gladiator sandals, hat (similar), Celine sunglasses (similar), Mar y Sol tote.

Top 5 destinations.
1. Paso Robles for wine tasting.
2. Laguna Beach for aqua blue waters and a low key beach scene.
3. Palm Springs
4. Ojai (seen here and here)
5. Carmel/Big Sur

Road Trip Essentials:
Wet Ones, wipes for post bathroom breaks and In n’ Out stops…
A stack of magazines…
Good tunes…
A camera for documenting the memories (I love this one)…
Healthy snacks…
Lip balm + hand cream
A cozy wrap + layers
Sunglasses + hat
gum…
