Camel Staples

August 15, 2014

Camel StaplesWhen summer fades and fall colors start to take over the first thing I always reach for is this drapey camel coat. Its not quite a winter layer but the perfect option for mild fall days. I jumped the gun a bit the other day in anticipation of the season ahead, partially thanks to these great Tod’s I found over at Nordstrom, but it was cool enough for a fall tease. Which got me thinking about the perfect pieces to transition with….

Tods Gommini driving moccasins, R13 tee (another great graphic tee find here), Zara coat (similar), Paige jeans, Saint Laurent bag and sunglasses, One Jewelry ring, Carrie Hoffman ring, Jennifer Fisher ring.
Camel StaplesFirst and foremost, a lightweight coat that you can eventual layer up with as the weather grows colder. I find the more neutral the color the better. Camel StaplesBasic black pants that you can pair with flats or loafers. Nordstrom is a great place to look for both of these staples since they have a range of brands and prices. There’s just something about a driving moccasin that screams preppy cool for fall. Camel StaplesA classic handbag. I love this one from Saint Laurent because it can be worn a few different ways including crossbody, which is perfect for jetting out for a busy day. I also have my eye on this black tote for a slightly larger option.
Camel StaplesPlayful tees are my favorite way to balance out fall staples. An edgy design or added touch of color always comes in handy to tone down anything too serious. Camel StaplesAnd for the record, Tod’s loafers are just as necessary for the man in your life. I finally picked up a pair for my husband who has started to rely on them for both dressy and casual days.

Some of my fall staple finds over at Nordstrom…
