Changing Seasons in Stripes

August 22, 2014

Stripes Two WaysI have a few tricks up my sleeve when it comes to transitioning into fall. The most basic and obvious is pulling out my stripes. True, who doesn’t wear stripes year round? But I find that it’s the perfect neutral to balance out the two seasons and I end up relying on that classic element. This time around I’ve got a whole new obstacle to navigate: the bump. The other day I went to put on one of my go-to striped tees and it was a tad too short—a reality you face during pregnancy. So I caved and picked up a striped maternity top from Old Navy to get me through these next few months. I’ll admit I was making some pretty bold statements early on about working with pieces I already have and non-maternity styles, but at the end of the day a few basics make a world of a difference—they allow for more options with your regular wardrobe.
