Hit of Hot Pink

February 5, 2016

pop-of-pink-could-i-have-that-freshly-pickedWhen I first designed Elin’s room (seen here) it was as neutral as could be. Since we didn’t know whether we were having a boy or a girl at the time I went with white, wheat and touches of slate gray. It felt so serene, soft and tranquil every time we walked in, I absolutely loved it. Since Elin arrived and has filled the room with life, lot’s of toys and now pink tutus I’ve decided it’s time to switch things up a bit. It dawned on me after picking up these neon pink moccasins and the sweetest pillow that a simple hit of hot pink was just what the room, and Elin, seemed to be begging for to liven up the neutral pieces. Along with some book and toy organizing, I’ll be making some subtle updates over the next few weeks that will make the room more functional, fun and age appropriate for our car-loving, tutu-wearing, book-loving one-year-old. I can’t wait to share the room refreshed, until then here is some inspiration I’ve been collecting, which has in turn made me see the warm, happy, subtle accent in any room in the house.
