If you’re wondering why I look so serious in this photo, it’s because I was headed to a big intimidating meeting. One that required girl boss vibes that need some coaxing on certain days. In my world I can always count on my wardrobe to bring out a certain side of myself. Banana Republic’s new campaign “Turn It Up” is all about finding those little ways to turn up every aspect of our lives. I can totally get with this philosophy as it’s loaded with whole hearted motivation that we could all use a little more of.

I put together this look celebrating that very idea, Turn Up The Confidence. One surefire way to boost my inner boss is to feel 100% comfortable in what I’m wearing—duh. But really something that I’m futzing with all day will distract me completely. So opting for well fitting and well-made pieces is crucial at the end of the day, er meeting in this case. My next necessity is a pieces that falls into the classic, sophisticated category and nothing fits the bill better than a peacoat. I love the brass buttons on this one and the structured fit. I pulled the look together with a turtleneck sweater and slimming flared jeans.
