Dressed by Elin

May 10, 2017

Getting dressed everyday is more of a team job these days. See, I have this little miniature assistant that loves to (as of lately) rifle through my shoes, pick two missed matched heels and trudge around the house saying “look mama!” It’s pretty darn cute and I can’t help myself from laughing and encouraging her newfound love of dress-up. Lately she even went so far as to tell me what to wear, so when Vince Camuto reached out to us with a fun little Mother’s Day challenge—let your kids dress you—we gladly accepted. And we took it pretty seriously, as most 2 1/2 year olds do. First we discussed what I was going to wear—PINK! Then I was instructed to wear a long, flowy dress because I was going to be a “bride” and she was going to be a “bridesmaid.” So this billowy tunic it was, which I layered with a slip. The final touch, a pair of wrap up espadrilles that Elin loved helping me put on, and on and on again.  When we get bored of playing dress up, the closet also serves for a very sneaky hiding spot.
I have to say, my very determined (sometimes bossy) assistant did a pretty bang up job. I loved wearing this look that took me from a meeting to a dinner date while collecting some compliments in the process—I of course credited the 2-year-old behind it.
