Of all the trends that came down the runways for Spring and Summer 2018, shiny things was one that caught my eye. You know, anything a mermaid might be into. Silky fabrics, the tiniest of sequins, bejeweled Cinderella shoes and lots of see through plastic bags and shoes were a common thread. I love the idea of a bit of shine for the months we’re all a bit more bronzed, but also because it adds a touch of fantasy to our Spring wardrobes.

The first thing I nabbed for the season was this Vince silky blouse. While I’d love to step out in a shimmering Versace gown everyday, the easiest and most practical nod to the trend in my world comes in the form of this pearly blush moment. Still working on the bronzed portion of the look—faux tan anyone? But I love how it shines, picks up the light and feels mermaid-esque and au currant for this season.
