How I’m Making Back To School Special For Elin

July 24, 2020

Elin starts kindergarten this year and even though, during these times, we’re not sure what the year ahead will look like, I’m determined to make it as special as possible. We plan on circling the day on the calendar, planning out a breakfast of her choice that day and even getting dressed (backpack and all) for the first day of school picture—even if it is remote learning.

One thing I remember getting so excited about was the “first day of school outfit” I got to shop for and pick out every year. I can even remember some that are permanently etched in my memory bank. I partnered with Walmart to pick out some favorite back-to-school pieces for Elin and had the best time looking through everything with her on my lap. Naturally she gravitated towards a lot of bright pinks but we both agreed that this look seemed like a “big Kindergartner outfit,” in her words.

To support her learning at home I made a few plans which include a dedicated place for her crafts and paperwork as well as a wall she can hang her writing and drawings on.

One thing I love about Walmart (besides the prices!) is how quickly everything shows up. It’s always a reliable source to find something budget friendly and especially makes sense considering how fast our girl is growing.

More picks from Walmart that both Elin and I loved…

Thank you to Walmart for supporting this post, all opinions are my own.
